Our Commitment
Universal Gold Group is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We actively work to increase the accessibility and usability of our website in conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. If you experience any accessibility barriers on our Site, please contact us — we want to hear from you.
Conformance Status
We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Our target is Level AA conformance.
Our current accessibility status across the four WCAG principles:
Principle 1
Perceivable
Content is presented in ways users can perceive — including text alternatives for images and sufficient color contrast.
Largely Met
Principle 2
Operable
Interface components are operable via keyboard and do not rely solely on mouse input or timed interactions.
Largely Met
Principle 3
Understandable
Content and operation are understandable, with clear language, consistent navigation, and helpful error messages.
Met
Principle 4
Robust
Content is robust enough to be reliably interpreted by a variety of assistive technologies, including screen readers.

Accessibility Features
We have implemented or are implementing the following accessibility features on our website:
Visual
- Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality using standard browser controls
- Color is not used as the sole means of conveying information
- We target a minimum color contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text, per WCAG 2.1 AA requirements
- Images used to convey content include descriptive alt text
- Decorative images include null alt text so screen readers skip them
Navigation & Interaction
- All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard (Tab, Enter, Space, and arrow keys)
- Focus indicators are visible when navigating with a keyboard
- Navigation menus include appropriate ARIA labels where needed
- Skip navigation links are available to allow keyboard users to bypass repetitive content
- Form fields are labeled clearly and associate labels with their corresponding inputs
- Error messages identify the specific field in error and describe what correction is needed
Content
- The primary language of each page is specified in the HTML
lang attribute
- Headings are used in a logical hierarchical order (H1 → H2 → H3) to support screen reader navigation
- Links have descriptive text that indicates their destination or purpose
- Tables include appropriate header cells and captions
- Documents available for download are provided in accessible formats where possible
Technology
- Our website is designed to work with current versions of major screen readers, including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver
- We test with Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge across desktop and mobile platforms
- We do not use content that flashes more than three times per second, which could trigger photosensitive seizures
- Videos and audio content include captions and/or transcripts where applicable
Known Limitations
While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, we are aware of the following limitations that we are actively working to address:
- Navigation dropdown menus: Our current hover-based dropdown navigation may present challenges for keyboard-only users. We are developing an enhanced keyboard-accessible dropdown implementation.
- Some older PDF documents: Older documents available on the Site may not be fully tagged for screen reader accessibility. We are working to remediate or replace these documents.
- Interactive calculators: Complex interactive tools such as our RMD Calculator may have areas where screen reader interaction could be improved. Ongoing improvements are in development.
- Third-party content: Embedded third-party content and widgets (such as live chat tools) may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA. We select third-party vendors with accessibility in mind and advocate with them for improvements.
If you encounter any accessibility barrier not listed above, please contact us — we treat all accessibility reports as high priority.
